Nissan Magnite Now Gets CNG Option for Rs. 74,999!

Published on

Good news for car buyers looking for a fuel-efficient and eco-friendly ride! Nissan India has just announced that its popular small SUV, the Magnite, can now be fitted with a CNG kit. This means you can enjoy the power of a petrol car and the money-saving benefits of CNG, all in one!

The special CNG kit costs an extra Rs. 74,999 and can be added to the new Nissan Magnite models that have a 1.0-liter petrol engine and a manual gearbox. This is great for people who drive a lot and want to save money on fuel.

What’s the Big Deal About CNG?

CNG, or Compressed Natural Gas, is a cleaner fuel than petrol. Using CNG can help:

  • Save You Money: CNG is usually cheaper than petrol, so your trips will cost less.
  • Protect Our Planet: CNG cars produce less pollution, which is good for the air we breathe.

Where Can You Get It?

Starting June 1, 2025, you can order the CNG kit for your new Magnite through Nissan’s official dealers. At first, this will be available in seven states:

  • Delhi-NCR
  • Maharashtra
  • Gujarat
  • Uttar Pradesh
  • Haryana
  • Kerala
  • Karnataka

Nissan plans to make it available in more states later on.

Important Things to Know:

  • Which Magnite Models? The CNG kit is only for the Magnite with the 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and a manual (stick-shift) gearbox. It’s not for the automatic or turbo engine versions.
  • Who Makes the Kit? The CNG kit is made by a company called Motozen. They are experts in CNG kits and will also provide the warranty for these parts.
  • Warranty: You don’t have to worry! The CNG kit comes with a warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh kilometers (whichever comes first), just like the car.
  • Boot Space: Adding a CNG tank usually takes up some space in the boot. Nissan says that even with the 12 kg CNG cylinder, there will still be enough room for one large suitcase and a couple of smaller bags.
  • Safety First: The CNG kits are approved by the government and will be fitted at authorized centers. This means they meet all safety rules.
  • Existing Magnite Owners: If you already own a newer Magnite (the facelifted version), you can also get this CNG kit fitted. However, Nissan doesn’t recommend it for older (pre-facelift) models because the newer engines have been specially prepared for CNG.

Why is Nissan Doing This?

Mr. Saurabh Vatsa, the Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, said that many customers wanted a CNG option for the Magnite. He believes this will make the popular SUV even more practical and a better deal for buyers.

This is a smart move by Nissan, as more and more people in India are looking for cars that are cheaper to run and better for the environment. The Magnite CNG will now compete with other CNG SUVs in the market, like the Tata Punch CNG and Hyundai Exter CNG.

So, if you’re thinking of buying a new small SUV, the Nissan Magnite with the new CNG option could be a great choice for you! It’s stylish, packed with features, and now even more economical to drive.
